About

Product leader, increasingly a hands-on builder.

Rachit Gupta at his desk

I am a product leader and hands-on builder with 14+ years in technology, including more than a decade working across U.S. enterprise environments.

My career has repeatedly placed me around the same underlying problem:

Complex enterprises rarely suffer from a lack of technology. They struggle to connect technology with trustworthy data, clear ownership, usable workflows and governance that actually works.

That problem has become even more important with AI.

Today I am particularly interested in the infrastructure and product thinking required to make enterprise AI trustworthy: identity, data quality, metadata, lineage, context, controls, human oversight and bounded agent behavior.

For most of my career my work has been product ownership — framing problems, shaping platforms and working with engineering and business teams. More recently I've started a deliberate technical apprenticeship: building working systems myself, so that I understand the trade-offs from the inside rather than only from the roadmap. I'm still learning, and I try to be clear about which parts I know well and which I'm still working out.

How I work

A few working principles.

  1. 01Start with the problem
  2. 02Separate assumptions from evidence
  3. 03Build the smallest useful system
  4. 04Make authority explicit
  5. 05Prefer explainable boundaries over magic
  6. 06Let real users and customers determine what deserves to become a product

If these problems are familiar, I'd like to hear about yours.
